Sonardyne appoints MARSS Group as maritime security reseller

Underwater technology company, Sonardyne International Ltd, has appointed MARSS Group as a non-exclusive reseller and integrator of its maritime security products. The deal was announced at the METSTRADE exhibition in Amsterdam where both companies are attending the Global Superyacht Forum.

Under the terms of the new agreement announced this week, MARSS will supply, support and integrate Sonardyne’s market-leading intruder detection sonar, Sentinel; forward-looking obstacle avoidance sonar, NOAS; together with related underwater technologies in territories including; Europe, the Middle East and South-East Asia.

Underwater technology company, Sonardyne International Ltd, has appointed Scandinavian Aerospace and Industry AB (SAI) as a reseller of its maritime security products in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and surrounding territories.

Based in Tyresö, Sweden, SAI supplies, supports and integrates commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies for air, land and sea applications. It works with industrial and defence organisations across Scandinavia including harbour authorities, naval forces, maritime enforcement agencies and shipyards. Under the terms of the new agreement, SAI will now promote Sonardyne’s family of underwater security products; Sentinel IDS, NOAS and high resolution mine hunting sonar, Solstice.

Sonardyne delivers collision avoidance sonar to MARSS Group for new private vessel

Maritime security company, Sonardyne International Ltd., UK, has announced that it has supplied forward-looking sonar technology to MARSS Group of Monaco for a 120 metre-plus private vessel that was recently delivered to its new owner in Europe.

 

The NOAS (Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance Sonar) system was specified for the unnamed vessel to allow it to explore remote, poorly charted places with the assurance that potentially hazardous underwater obstacles can be identified and avoided. Marine salvage specialists, Eggers Kampfmittelbergung GmbH, has completed its first project using underwater acoustic tracking technology supplied by Sonardyne International, UK, during an operation to dispose of unexploded ordnance lying off the German coast in the Baltic Sea.

 

Working in water depths of between just six and 15 metres, the Mini-Ranger 2 Ultra-Short BaseLine (USBL) system was used to track divers as they surveyed the seabed, recording the location of potential targets before safely clearing the area of metal objects and old ammunition.
